Commentary

The view is from the window of the hospital in Brooklyn, NY, February 1917, painted on the day Folinsbee's first daughter Beth was born. Like JFF.502, also titled New York Harbor, it is probably a study for the larger painting, The Harbor, JFF.200.

Finished work:

The Harbor, 1917 (200)
